About Santala Research: who we are and how we work

In short: Santala Research is a small, non-profit collaboration of a few contributors who share what they know about blockchain in a simple, clear way. Research reports and explainers are written by people. News, the Radar and the briefs are automated and say so. Nobody sponsors us; the site and every report are free.

Who we are

Santala Research is a small group of people who like blockchain technology and want to explain it without jargon, hype or sales pitches. We are not a company. There are no investors and no employees. The site, the reports and the Telegram bots are free to read and use; Santala Bot has an optional paid Premium tier whose only purpose is to help cover server costs.

We publish in Spanish and English. We do not list names or a location on this page; what matters is what we publish and how it is made, and that is what the rest of this page explains.

Our areas of focus are Bitcoin, Zcash, hardware wallets, exchange security, validators and DeFi. Videos go on YouTube; questions go to contact@santala-research.com.

What we publish and how each type is made

Research reports

Our research reports are written by people. Every checkable claim points to a source (on-chain data, official documentation, code, primary reporting) listed in the references. Reports are versioned: each one carries a version number and a revision history, and the "Updated" date changes only when the content changes, never for layout tweaks. Reports are not investment advice; contributors may hold small amounts of the assets discussed, and that never influences what we write.

Explainers

The explainers on the blog are also written by people. Each one is tagged with a level, from beginner to advanced, so you can pick what fits you, and they are updated when something they describe changes.

News and Radar

The news page is automated: four times a day, a pipeline collects headlines from the sources listed on the page and summarises them with Google's Gemini models. The Radar works the same way, once an hour, and shows which topics are gaining attention. Both pages are labelled as automated. They are useful for keeping up, not for making decisions.

Briefs

Briefs are short notes on a single security, Bitcoin or wallet topic. They are drafted by Gemini from cited sources and then machine-verified: an automated check compares the numbers, dates and names in the draft against the cited sources, and drafts that fail are not published. Briefs are not reviewed by a person before they go live, and each one says so under its title. Read them as a starting point and follow the sources.

Corrections and how to report an error

If you find a mistake, email contact@santala-research.com with the page address and what is wrong. A link to a better source helps a lot.

For reports and explainers, we check the claim, fix the text and record the change in the report's revision history. For automated content, we fix or remove the item and, when the cause is in the pipeline, we fix the pipeline so it does not happen again. We do not quietly edit: any correction that changes the meaning of a page is recorded.

Independence

We have no sponsors, no advertising, no affiliate links and no paid placements. We do not accept payment, tokens or favours for coverage. The only thing sold is the optional Premium tier of Santala Bot, which has no bearing on the content. When we link to a product, it is because it is relevant to the text. The costs of running the site and the infrastructure are covered by the contributors themselves.

Nothing we publish is financial, legal or tax advice. Our Terms of Service explain this in more detail.

What we run

Besides publishing, we operate a few things ourselves, which keeps our writing grounded:

  • Validators on gno.land, the Gno blockchain; part of our material on validators comes from running them.
  • Santala Bot (@santalars_bot), a Telegram bot that answers with crypto market data in any chat.
  • Dryup (@dryup_bot), a Telegram bot that counts sober days with a daily check-in.

Both bots can be used for free without an account (Santala Bot also offers an optional Premium tier). What each one does and which data it touches is described on the Products page.

Privacy

The site sets no cookies, has no accounts and shows no ads; the details are in our Privacy Policy.
