At Santala Research we respect your privacy. This policy transparently explains what happens with your information when you visit our site. The short answer: we collect nothing.
2. Data We Don't Collect
This is a static website with no user accounts, no registration forms, and no tracking. Specifically:
- We do not collect any personal data of any kind
- There are no user accounts or passwords
- We do not use tracking or analytics cookies
- We use privacy-friendly, cookieless visit analytics (GoatCounter, self-hosted on our own server) — no Google Analytics, no cookies, and no personal data collected
- We do not log IP addresses or device data
3. Browser localStorage
The site uses browser local storage (localStorage) exclusively for two purposes:
- Language preference: Remembering whether you prefer the site in Spanish or English.
- Market data cache: Temporarily storing cryptocurrency data to improve performance and reduce redundant API calls.
This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
4. Third-Party API Calls
When you visit the market data sections, your browser makes requests directly to the following third-party APIs:
- CoinGecko — cryptocurrency prices and market data
- Alternative.me — crypto market fear & greed index
- Binance — additional market data
These requests go from your browser directly to their servers, without passing through ours. Each of these services has its own privacy policy. Santala Research has no control over data these third parties may collect during those requests.
5. Email Newsletter
If you choose to subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is managed through Mailchimp. We use this data solely to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link included in every email.
6. No Cookies, No Tracking
This site does not set cookies of any kind — neither first-party nor third-party. To understand which content is useful we use GoatCounter, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool that only counts visits in aggregate: no fingerprinting, no personal data stored, and no cross-site tracking. Your visit remains anonymous.
7. Children's Privacy
Since we do not collect personal data from any visitor, this policy applies equally to everyone. There is no data collection mechanism that could affect children.
8. Future Changes
If we add features in the future that involve data collection (such as forums, comments, or other interactive features), we will update this privacy policy before implementing them and communicate it clearly.
