Radar

What is moving

Every hour we read 19 sources (trade press, developer lists, firmware advisories, hack trackers) and group the headlines into concrete topics. Heat measures how many independent sources are talking about the same thing and how fast that is growing. A topic makes the list with three independent sources or one primary source.

How it works

The radar publishes no opinions: it only counts. Each topic's score = sum of independent-source weights over 24 h × velocity (headlines in the last 6 h against the previous 3-day average) × fit to the site's focus × novelty (0.5 when it is a development of a paper we already published). Primary sources (developer lists, release notes, the hack tracker) weigh more than the press; Reddit and Google Trends only confirm, they never start a topic. A language model groups the headlines; the numbers come from counting.
